Rules You Must Break to have a Successful Podcast

Here are the 5 Rules you MUST break to have a successful podcast and take your business to the next level:

❌ You need a sound studio to start a successful podcast

This means that you don’t have to worry about building a sound studio just to start a podcast.  Listen, I once recorded an episode of my podcast in the car! You might not believe it but yes, I did that! Don’t let not having a sound studio stop you, if you have something in your head, say it, record it, podcast and I’ll tell you, you can grow a successful podcast even without a studio.

❌ Your podcast needs to be a certain length, and you have to post at a certain frequency

Your podcast used to be however long it used to be, if it takes you 10 minutes to say what you want to say then so be it. Don’t ever add random words to lengthen your podcast, just say what you want to say and share valuable lessons with your listeners because that’s what really matters.

Another thing is frequency, here’s the thing, commit to showing up to your podcast once a week and it will grow, trust me. Commit to what you can do realistically, don’t go overboard because it will just set you to failure.

❌  You can copy other big podcaster’s strategies to have a successful podcast

 I know that you have been looking around, and you’re seeing that there are some really big podcasters around you and you’re thinking that if you copy how they produce their podcast, you will be successful too. But here’s the thing you’re missing those big podcasters around you, they have an entire team to help them. You’re not them and they’re not you and what works for them might not work for you.

Stop looking around at what everybody else is doing and start thinking about what you want, what your listeners want, and how can you help them today through your podcast.

❌ You need all the expensive equipment to start a successful podcast

Do you want to know what I’m using right now? A gamer headset that I bought on Amazon and it costs $30 and it does the job very well! You don’t need to have fancy and expensive stuff to start your podcast.

Protip:  If I was looking for something very cute and photo ready, I would get a Yeti microphone available on Amazon and it’s only $100 I would get some headphones too. The software that I use to record my episodes is called Audacity, and you can use it for free.

❌ You must have a long intro to have a successful podcast

Why you don’t have to stress over a long intro? Your listener will skip them anyway. If you want an intro, that’s your call but it doesn’t have to be a minute long.

At the end of the day, the point of this episode is to empower you to do things your way for you to think about what is it that I want, what is the vibe that I’m going for, what is the user experience what you want, what do I want the person on the other side to feel was there listening to my podcast episode. That’s really it.

This is your show, this is your time to shine, and this is your time to open up and talk to your listener. This is very intimate.
