Let’s talk about something that almost every podcaster experiences: impostor syndrome. That feeling of self-doubt and fear creeps in when you launch your podcast. I’ve launched many podcasts, and let me tell you, the imposter syndrome was always there. But guess what? You’re not alone. Everyone feels it, even the most confident people.

It’s simple, really. Your brain doesn’t like change. Podcasting is a new level of visibility, and your brain is freaking out because it’s not used to it. Your brain has a little Rolodex of every time you put yourself out there and how bad it sucked. So, it starts creating stories to keep you safe.

Let’s set the record straight: Your first episode isn’t going to be amazing. Even if you’re experienced, podcasting is a new thing you’re doing. The first try, maybe the second, third, and fourth, are going to suck. And that’s okay. I remember my very first episode, and it took me a while to get it right. But the key is to keep going, even if you have to restart an episode multiple times. Now, let’s get practical. You are safe, and there is nothing to fear. But to overcome impostor syndrome, you need to do the thing.

How to Get Rid of Imposter Syndrome when Starting your podcast?

1. Start recording some podcast episodes and put yourself out there.
2. Give yourself a deadline, say a week, and then release the episode to the world.
3. There’s no room for perfectionism because it will keep you stuck. You’re not alone, and others go through the same thing.
