How to Sell Anything Without Feeling Pushy or Salesy

Imagine this with me, If I were to sit down with you for a cup of tea and ask you if you like selling your product or service, what would be your response? Usually, when I do ask people this question, I am met with a look that feels like selling is the nastiest thing they ever heard.

let’s talk about the art of selling without coming across as pushy or salesy, particularly for mompreneurs who often struggle with this issue. We have the desire to make money and create an impact, but we hesitate to put ourselves out there for fear of seeming aggressive.

However, in 2022, we no longer need to rely on outdated, masculine approaches when selling products or services. Instead, it’s time to embrace our feminine energy and let it shine, allowing us to effectively sell without being forceful. By breaking down these barriers, we can achieve our goals while staying true to ourselves.

Heal from high-pressure sales experience

The key to overcoming the fear of being pushy or salesy is to heal any negative experiences you’ve had with high-pressure sales tactics. We’ve all been in situations where we felt pressured to buy something, only to feel regret and discomfort later. It’s likely that you’ve experienced this too, just as many others have. It’s important to recognize that this aggressive approach to selling is wrong, and we’re not here to perpetuate it. Instead, let’s rewrite the story and embrace a new way of selling that is rooted in love, good intentions, and a genuine desire to help others.

To begin the healing process, think about the times you’ve made purchases—whether products or services—that left you feeling trapped or coerced. Acknowledge that these experiences were not right and resolve to put an end to such tactics. Starting today, let’s focus on selling from a place of compassion and understanding, forging a new path in the world of sales.

Be transparent

In all honesty, there’s no need to push your products or services on anyone. By being transparent and showing up as your best self, you can present your offerings without any pressure. Whether it’s a product or service, if it aligns with the other person’s needs, they’ll naturally want to buy from you. The key is to be honest, transparent, and clear about what they’ll receive when they purchase from you. This way, there’s no guessing or suspicion about a hidden catch.

It’s important to remember that sometimes, even if you believe you have the perfect product or service for someone, they might not be interested. In these cases, bless and release the situation, knowing that your offering will be available when they’re ready. Avoid trying to convince people to buy from you, as doing so will only push them away. You don’t need to address every objection or live in a scarcity mindset, fearing that a lost sale is the end of the world.

Lean into your feminine energy

Have you ever had an experience where you purchased something or tried a new way of doing things, and it was life-changing? When it comes to sales, it’s important to let go of outdated masculine strategies like fighting objections and instead come from a place of love and peace. Trust that there is an abundant world out there, and the right person is waiting to buy your perfect product or service. Even if one person doesn’t buy from you, someone else will. It’s important not to take rejection personally and to love and accept yourself. 

As women, we may need to do some healing around selling so we can be transparent and open about what we offer without feeling pushy or salesy. Manipulating someone to buy from you doesn’t vibe, so let’s shift our mindset and come from a place of abundance and sisterhood.

I totally get it,  selling can be a scary thing. But if you approach it with the right intentions, you’ll start to love it!
