Starting Out

When I first started my podcast in May 2020, I didn’t have any listeners. I wasn’t sure how everything would work, but I believed it would succeed. By August, I made my first sale from the podcast, which was very exciting and showed me that my efforts could really pay off. This was the beginning of my journey in growing a successful podcast.

Building the Podcast

At first, my podcast was all about selling things online, like through Amazon and Etsy. I had experience there and I wanted to help others do the same. For over a year, I shared everything I knew, and my listeners really used my tips to improve their businesses.

By the end of 2021, I felt like I had shared all I could about selling online. I knew I had more to offer and needed to do something different. So, I decided to start helping people with their podcasts, marking a new phase in growing a successful podcast.

Starting a New Business

In January 2022, I started a new business helping others start and grow their podcasts. My first client’s podcast got thousands of downloads right away, which was amazing. More people started asking for my help, mostly because they heard from others about my work.

Even though it was scary to move away from talking just about selling online, I focused on broader marketing and podcasting strategies. This change meant I lost some listeners who were more interested in e-commerce, but I gained new ones interested in podcasting.

Growing and Looking Forward

Today, nearly 90% of my clients’ podcasts are among the top 5% of all podcasts in terms of listeners. My own podcast is also doing really well, reaching the top 0.5% of all podcasts worldwide. These successes keep me excited about what I do and are a testament to the effectiveness of growing a successful podcast.

As I keep going, my goals are to keep improving how we help podcasts grow and to stay open to new challenges and opportunities.

Starting with no listeners and building into a business that supports my family and helps others has been an incredible journey. It shows that with hard work, good planning, and the willingness to adapt, you can turn your dreams into reality.
