Check your podcast cover. Does it attract people or repel them? Some people may not like them because they’re not your target audience, but it can also be that your cover art is not on point. Your cover should represent your podcast well and attract people to listen to it. Your podcast thumbnail may be small, but it affects the listeners’ choices greatly. So you need to capitalize on this tiny art to speak to your audience.
Your intro should provide a concise overview of the topic of your episode. Don’t just talk about how you are or what you did over the weekend. Remember that your podcast has to do two things: connect with your loyal listeners, but also make new listeners committed. So make sure your intro will get them to stay.
So you think you’re being helpful by giving loads of information to your listeners? The truth is you’re not. Don’t overwhelm your audience with too much information; instead, provide them with enough chewable information that they can apply in real life. Giving them a long list of things to do will burden them and that would be the fastest way to lose your audience.
Share what you offer. If you’re not sharing that, people will just assume you’re some motivational speaker offering free advice. Don’t just podcast for the sake of it – make sure you’re telling people about your work, capabilities, and services. This will help your audience know what next steps they can take to work with you.
