Have you been working so hard, yet your podcast is still not growing?
You’ve binged every OMS episode to know the tips on how to make the podcast work. You’ve worked on your SEO.
Yet the results are not meeting your expectations.
It’s time to be honest and give you a reality check. As a podcast management agency owner, these are the 4 podcasting mistakes you need to check to know why your show may not be growing and how you can improve them.
You have been focusing on creating content – but it’s for your other social media accounts. Your podcast is not your priority. You may have skipped a week or two in releasing an episode, and that’s okay for you.
Remember, podcasts don’t grow overnight. If you want podcasting to work for you, you have to work for it.
To prioritize your podcast, make your podcast your main marketing platform. From there, you can repurpose your content, prepare and schedule them in batches, and you’ll never have to worry if you’re running out of content on your other platforms.
There are 2 types of listeners:
You need to make sure that your content can cater to both listeners. As much as infusing your personality into what you do can help connect with your listeners, it doesn’t help if what you’re talking about is not connected to the actual topic of your podcast.
Think of it this way: what can I bring to my listeners that will make them return next time?
Be concise with your episodes. Give context to your content and avoid getting off-topic.
Sometimes, it’s as if we want to provide all the answers in just one episode. If you give people too many things to do, it starts to get overwhelming for them. People are more likely not to take any action.
Your episodes should have a goal. An episode is not meant to overhaul someone’s life.
In an episode, provide help on a specific topic only. And when they’re done listening with a clear call to action, they might be more inspired to return the next time.
Every little thing counts. When people search for a topic and find your podcast, the next thing they will see is the inch-by-inch thumbnail on the platform.
And people judge what they see.
Make sure your podcast cover art is on point with the rest of your visuals. Make sure your branding, and how you package the whole podcast are cohesive so that it can attract people.
Those are the four mistakes that you have to fix for your podcast to grow. If you are just starting in podcasting, these mistakes may not apply to you.
But if you need any help or if you just want to record your topics and let others handle the nitty-gritty of podcast management, I have an agency that can definitely help you. Just give us your recorded podcast episode, and we will do the rest to make sure your podcast reaches the audience you want.
